Supernatural Canons

Below are the reimagined canons of Devil's Trap. These characters were chosen due to their presence in the earlier seasons of the show and their part in the war between demons and hunters and the psychic kid plotlines. The models listed below are merely suggestions and those interested in a canon are free to use the original actor from the show or an entirely different face. We simply ask that any graphics used are age appropriate for the character e.g. if someone were to use Jared and Jensen for Sam and Dean their pictures would be from season one rather than season fifteen. Naturally, this doesn't apply to creatures such as Demons and Shapeshifters whose appearance don't reflect their true age.

Since Devil's Trap is a modern day reboot changes to a characters gender, sexuality, ethnicity etc are not only accepted, but welcomed. If you would like to use a character from post season two please contact a member of staff to discuss it.

Dean is the eldest son of John and Mary Winchester. Raised a hunter, he has known about the existence of the Supernatural since the death of his mother when he was four. Unlike his younger brother Sam, Dean has fully embraced the life of a hunter, as he believes it is his duty to use his knowledge of what's out there to save people. The eldest Winchester has a confident swagger and cocky attitude, which has been known to both draw people to him and deeply tick them off. Dean is currently hunting solo, as his father recently disappeared to follow a lead on the thing that killed Dean's mother. 

Sam is the youngest child of Mary Winchester and the middle child of John Winchester. Sam became aware of the Supernatural at age seven when he was kidnapped by a pack of werewolves seeking revenge on his father. Sam is a bookish guy with a gentle heart and a reserved demeanour. Sam is currently estranged from his family, as he left to attend Stanford against his father’s wishes. He is living the life of a civilian and in a  polyamorous relationship with Jessica Moore and Tyson Brady. The youngest Winchester tries to suppress his knowledge of what goes bump in the night, but recent vivid dreams of the death of Jessica are making this task more difficult.

Adam Milligan is the only son of Kate Milligan and the youngest son of John Winchester. Adam does not know about his older siblings or the supernatural, as he only sees his father on his birthday. Despite the fact they’ve never met, Adam has a similar personality to his older brother Dean. He is sarcastic, witty and enjoys classic rock and cars.  Adam is currently in his freshman year at Stanford University studying biology and hopes to become a doctor one day.

John was all set to live an apple pie life with his wife Mary until the night he walked in to the sight of her burning on the ceiling. John is a bitter man, primarily driven by a need for revenge and uses anger as a way to dull the pain caused by the tragedies in his life. John raised his eldest two children to be warriors, and while he may often come across as more of a drill sergeant than a father there is nothing more important to him than his boys. John has recently parted from Dean so he can follow a new lead on how to kill the demon who killed his wife. 

The rock of the hunting community, Bobby is the guy hunters go to if they need information on how to kill a monster or back up from a hunter in the local area. Bobby became aware of the Supernatural when a demon possessed his wife and in his ignorance he stabbed her in self-defence. He was saved by Rufus Turner, who exorcised the demon, but it was too late for his wife Karen. Bobby can initially come off as a gruff, hostile drunk, but in reality you couldn’t find a man more loyal and caring towards those in his small circle of friends. Bobby is currently focused on trying to rally together the hunters needed to fight the coming war.

Ellen is the owner of the popular saloon Harvelle’s Road House and the mother to Jo Harvelle. Ellen provides shelter, medical aid, and Intel to any hunter who passes her way. Ellen was once an active hunter, but she quit the life after her husband died on a hunt with John Winchester. Ellen is an intelligent and sharp woman who is fiercely protective of her daughter Jo. Recently, Ellen has been working with Bobby Singer to gather the hunters needed to fight the coming war. She may wish to keep herself and Jo out of the battle field, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a role to play.

Jo is currently working with her mother at Harvelle’s Roadhouse, but it is only a matter of time before she strikes out on her own.

Tyson Brady is the long term boyfriend of Sam Winchester and Jessica Moore. What they don’t know is that their entire relationship is a lie. Brady has been possessed by a demon, sent by Azazel, since their sophomore year at Stanford. His mission is to watch Sam and report back on the youngest Winchester’s activities. He would never admit it, but Brady has grown genuinely fond of the pair. Brady is currently working on a plan to get Sam back out on the road, but can he go through with it; especially when said plan involves Jessica dying in a similar matter to Sam’s mother Mary?

Azazel, more commonly known as the Yellow Eyed Demon, is the undisputed leader of hell who is regarded as a god or a tyrant by his fellow demons. It is Azazel who has been sending more demons to earth, and it is Azazel responsible for the sudden appearance of humans with psychic abilities. Azazel is a sadistic and cruel being who delights in causing others pain. He is manipulative and utterly assured of his own superiority. Azazel currently spends most of his time training demons for the war ahead and gathering intel from the demons he has sent to spy on his ‘special children’

Meg is a black eyed demon and the ‘daughter’ of Azazel. She is a cruel and sadistic being who takes particular delight in befriending her victims and watching their emotional pain when she ultimately betrays them. Meg is loyal to Azazel and is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure his goals succeed. Meg often acts as Azazel’s enforcer. It is her job to eliminate potential threats to their plans before they become a problem.  

Crowley is a black eyed demon and the current king of the crossroads. He is intelligent and possesses a particular talent for reading people and understanding their true motivations. Crowley is an ambitious and self-serving demon, which is why Azazel awarded him with a position prodigious enough to satisfy his ego, but also kept him too busy to try and figure out the tyrant’s ultimate goal.  Crowley spends his days making deals with those foolish enough to summon him, but he yearns to become something more. 

Andrew, or Andy as he prefers to be called, is a psychic who has recently developed the ability of mind control. He generally has to touch the person for the command to work, but he has controlled others using words alone in times of emotional distress. Andy knows nothing of the wider Supernatural world; all he knows is that he is able to make people do whatever he wants. Andy is a chilled and laid back guy who prefers to spend his days smoking drugs and doing shifts at a local pub.

Ava Wilson is a psychic who has recently begun experiencing visions of the future. She has no control over these visions, which typically manifest as dreams. Ava works as a secretary and dreams of one day owning a house with a white picket fence and two point five kids. Ava hates her newfound ability and spends most evenings browsing chat rooms in hopes of meeting someone who will help her get rid of them.

Jake Talley is a psychic who has recently begun to display super strength. The extent of his strength remains untested, but he once lifted eight hundred pounds without breaking a sweat. Jake is unaware of the wider Supernatural world and puts his ability down to a weird genetic fluke. Jake is a pragmatist who will do whatever it takes to keep himself and his family safe. Jake is a soldier for the U.S military and travels the world as directed by his superiors.
